SWAFFAM BARN CONVERSION

Beech Architects created designs for the conversion of a derelict stone barn into a 3 bedroom home set in the centre of this Cambridgeshire village. We created a design that the planning department approved of as it maintained the existing appearance of the front street gable and utilised all the existing window and door openings. At the same time we also managed to create a highly insulated glazed extension to the rear gable. This allowed dramatic views across the countryside from the new living/ dining/ kitchen space whilst creating the extra room the client required. The large glazed window and glass rooflight to this space created an impressive and light family space.
